U12 Program Information Slide Deck

The U12 Weekend Program focuses on developing team building, free skiing and racing skills in a fun and competitive environment.  Athletes will participate in weekend races scheduled by Alpine Ontario - Southern Ontario Division - which will require travel to other clubs.  There may also be opportunities to attend invitational events, depending on availability and host club quotas.  This group will train separately from the U12 Extended Program for most sessions.  All participants are required to purchase an Alpine Ontario (AOA - SOD) U12 Membership and wear a hard ear helmet.  All participants are required to have a valid Terrain Park Pass.

SKILL ABILITY – Participants are parallel skiers on all terrain at Caledon, maintain control at moderate speeds, and safely load and unload chairlifts without assistance.  For reference, here is a VIDEO EXAMPLE example of a U12 level skier.
 

EXTRA EVENTS – U12 Weekend Program athletes may have the opportunity to participate in Alpine Ontario (AOA) sanctioned events such as camps and invitational races.  Please note that participation is subject to host club quotas.  These events are not included with your program registration fee and are subject to additional fees.
 

MEETING LOCATION – Program drop off and pick up take place at the West Lodge, by the wood shed.  Students must be picked up in person by a parent/guardian at lunch and at the end of class. If you would like your child released from class independently at these times, please complete the independent release section during registration or contact the Competitive Office.
