U8/U10 Program Information Slide Deck

This U10 Program is a 1-day, full day entry level race program with no travel required.  The focus is on developing FUNdamental skiing skills, fostering team building and introducing skiers to basic racing techniques in a fun and supportive environment.  Throughout the season, participants will take part in a home race event, as well as a Sapling Session designed to introduce terrain based learning (dates to be announced).  Please note, all participants must have a valid Terrain Park Pass.

SKILL ABILITY –  Skiers must be able to ski independently on all terrain at Caledon, maintaining a moderate level of speed and control and be able to load and unload chairlifts unassisted.  For a better understanding of the expected skill level, please refer to the VIDEO EXAMPLE of a U10 level skier. 
 

EXTRA EVENTS – To participate in Alpine Ontario (AOA) sanctioned events, (ex. invitational races, camps), athletes must purchase a U10 AOA membership and wear a hard ear helmet.  Please note that these events are not included with your program registration and are subject to additional fees.  For a complete list of extra training opportunities please scroll down to Additional Training Opportunities.
 

MEETING LOCATION – Program drop off and pick up take place at the West Lodge, by the wood shed.  Students must be picked up in person by a parent/guardian at lunch and at the end of class. If you would like your child released from class independently at these times, please complete the independent release section during registration or contact the Competitive Office.
