This U8 program is a 1-day, full day entry level race program designed for young skiers, with no travel required. The focus is on creating a fun, engaging environment where participants can build their skiing abilities while being introduced to basic racing skills. Throughout the season, participants will take part in a home race event as well as a Sapling Session that introduces terrain-based learning (dates to be announced). *Please note, all participants must have a valid Terrain Park Pass.
SKILL ABILITY – Participants in the U8 program should either be graduates of the Trailblazers Program or demonstrate similar ability levels. Skiers must be comfortable skiing independently (without following a coach or another skier) on blue terrain at Caledon, maintaining a moderate level of speed and control. Athletes should also be able to ski in control on steeper terrain and load and unload chairlifts with minimal assistance. For a better understanding of the expected skill level, please refer to the VIDEO EXAMPLE of a U8 level skier.
MEETING LOCATION – Program drop off and pick up take place at the West Lodge, by the wood shed. Students must be picked in person by a parent/guardian at lunch and at the end of class.
